explore possible weekend conversation threads on our Facebook discussion board. check out the threads already mentioned or add your own thread with a brief description. if you find a particular conversation thread to be of interest, simply respond showing your interest. for example, you could respond to the thread “Re: Sharing our stories of emergence” by simply noting,  “Hey, I’m interested in joining that conversation.”     

also, if you’re couch surfing, try to touch base with your host about 1 week in advance. contact Tyler (thepriesthood@gmail.com) if you need their contact information and directions to their house from DF.

31st

•    Friday afternoon — people arriving, settling into host homes/hotels/etc.

•    Friday evening 5ish-5:30 p.m. — meet at at Disciples' Fellowship

•    5:30 p.m. — carpool caravan to Colvin’s house for Dinner Party provided by DF and B’ham Emergent/C. Costumes are encouraged but optional (and remember—it’s Reformation Day too). Opening introductions, conversation and discussion of the weekend's schedule, conversation threads, various options, etc.

•    10 p.m.-ish — adjourn for couch surfing, hotel, etc.

1st

•    Saturday 9ish a.m. — coffee/tea/juice and simple breakfast fare at DF

•    9:30-11:30ish — ongoing meeting/interaction/conversation continued from previous night at DF …

•    Saturday 11:30ish — lunch in smaller groups at local restaurants …

•    Saturday early afternoon until 2:30ish — smaller discussion groups continued at restaurants, local parks, and other conversation areas listed.

o    2 optional afternoon activities:

o    Saturday afternoon 3ish p.m. — community tour led by Anthony Smith

o    4ish p.m. — conversation continues at Shades Valley CC/emuna environment “War.” 

•    6ish p.m. — dinner together at Shades Valley CC/emuna (Bring Your Own Food or some communal cooking somewhere else? we’re having troubling locating a large space with a full-blown kitchen—logistically, bring your own may work the best or they’ve got a grill—but aren’t most Emergent folk vegetarians? ;-)

•    9ish — drinks/beer at the J-Clyde for those interested … 

2nd

•    Sunday a.m. — breakfast on your own

•    Sunday 9:10 a.m. — worship at DF

•    Sunday 10:45 a.m. —discussion groups at nearby Aldridge Gardens, closing conversations/gathering wrap-up together …

•    Sunday 11:30 a.m. — fellowship meal with DF community

•    Sunday afternoon — departures / head back home
